Caching in Redis

Note: This post was originally published in October 2015

A while ago I wrote a file cache module, which allows you to cache content on the file system. It was never meant to be more than a plaything, as you probably know the file system isn't the fastest place to store data.

I wanted to build the same thing again - but this time using Redis as the cache engine. Redis is an in-memory key-value store, extremely well fitted for the purpose of caching.
